2010 was quite a year, wasn’t it? From the oil spill to the Haitian earthquake to the Chilean miner rescue and the end of combat operations in Iraq, there have been both negative and positive monumental events that have gone down in the past 360ish days. Also, there have been some absolutely STELLAR memes created, and obviously that’s what we wanna see.

I WILL:

1) Stop looking for ‘The One’

As a BCU reader we’re sure you already know this. Looking for The One tends to end in messy breakups, expensive divorces, or getting shot in the head by your husband during a weird sex fantasy role play. Stop actively looking for the next person you’re going to date/live with/marry, and you’ll find that you’ll be much happier. Also, staying out of an intense, long term relationship will ensure that you’ll cry less when most the people you know are eaten alive by mutant narwhals.

2) Enjoy alone time

No matter how much you love your best friend, your favorite person should always be you. So spend time alone, with a new hobby or a good book, and you’ll realize that you don’t have to be surrounded by people all the time. With the coming apocalypse, especially, it’s important to accept and become accustomed to the sound of only your own heart beating.

3) Get out there and meet people

Like we said in the last post, it’s important in the End of This Era to be as well connected as possible so people will share their rations of rat carcasses with you, but also, it’s just nice to have a wide range of friends from different backgrounds with different likes and dislikes. It’ll keep you well-rounded, and provide a barrier against the oil tsunami of 2012.

The end of the year brings joy to the world for many reasons: holidays with our families (SEE MOM I MENTIONED YOU, JEEZ), New Years Eve celebrations, New Years resolutions (stop eating things off the floor), and of course, RECAPS. There are few things in the world more fulfilling then remembering the top ten moments of the year, whether they be news headlines or fashion moments or (my fave) nip slips. And as per usual, we can always count on YouTube to gather and compile the top ten viral videos of the year. It gives us a chance to sit back and wax nostalgic on the first time we drooled over the Old Spice guy, or wondered how on earth the Double Rainbow dude ingested so many mushrooms without puking (answer: years of practice).

So, without further ado, we give you YouTube’s top ten most watched viral videos of 2010.

5.  Somnophilia

If you ask me, this one is kind of boring. As long as the “morning wood” phenomenon exists, women will never be weirded out by what is called “sleepy sex,” or, trying to arouse a person while they are still sleeping. However, in the wrong situation, this might also be called “rape.”

4. Agalmatophilia

Although it has yet to be officially considered a fetish, Agalmatophilia is definitely real: having sexual feelings for dolls, robots, or mannequins. We’re banking on it happening this year, especially with the arrival of Roxxxy, the newest sex robot that can actually have conversations with you. Although I guess the appeal of the mannequins is that they keep their mouths shut, right?

3. E-Stim

Apparently, vibrators weren’t enough. E-Stim is the use of electric currents to stimulate parts of the body. I feel like this could potentially be hot, except that the machinery looks like it was dreamt up by Marty McFly back in 1985.

2. Emetophilia

Disgusting, offensive, and yet by all means viral, the 2 Girls 1 Cup video suddenly made us aware of Emetophilia, or the sexual fascination with vomit and vomiting. Apparently the action of puking on someone is called a Roman Shower, which sounds fancy and expensive, not repulsive and disgusting. But hey, I guess that’s exactly what a fetish should be.

1. Tentacle Porn

Exactly how it sounds.  Tentacle porn is a Japanese strain of pornography that involves octopi, squids, and tentacled aliens having sex with women. End of story.

The rumors are true. Apple is holding a special event to announce its newest product on January 27th. It will  be pretty tough to top the iPhone, but we’re counting on the ingenuity of the Apple team to make something mind-blowing.  Check back with us for the scoop on January 28th!

We at BCU were so excited when we heard about 2009′s “Cougar Cruise,” a 3-day cruise hosted by the Singles Travel Company, that we were practically counting down the days until the next one. What’s better than a boat full of hot older women? Unfortunately, we may never get the chance to experience it. Carnival Cruise Line has rejected the request for a 2nd annual Cougar Cruise.

According to SignOnSanDiego, Carnival says that they would like to focus on family oriented cruises. Well, if they wanted to kill our fun, they succeeded.

If you passed by any hotels and clubs on New Years Day you were bound to see a couple walk-of-shames, a few people without shoes, and about 80% of the population with a look of pure, hungover desperation in their eyes. Wired Magazine just posted a pretty funny list of things we’ll most likely be saying to our grand children in the far flung future. It wasn’t so long ago that we had no idea what a “tweet” was and mobile phones weighed 10 pounds.

Our personal favorite? Number 3: “Televised contests gave cash prizes to whoever could store the most data in their head.”

PLEASE DO! It seems like ages since the awesome superhero action flick Iron Man was released in 2008. If you’re like me, you’ve been yearning for more big-screen Marvel madness since you saw it in theaters and then rented it (bought the special edition).
