Say what you will about President Barack Obama, that he hasn’t lived up to the hype of his candidacy, that he’s gone the way of every other politician by catering to big business and being wishy-washy on any platform that doesn’t please his constituents, or that his backpeddling on the subject of gay marriage is, at best, shameful. However, as a man, you have to admit he is a pretty bad ass dude. From his jokes at the White House Correspondents Dinner, to his basketball skills and his handsome visage and inspiring speech skills, the guy has got the term “gentleman” down to a science.

So to all you with “NOBAMA” stickers on your bumpers, watch him silence a crying baby with Jedi-like precision, and just TRY and resist his charms.

“IS IT RACIST?”

Episode One: Sarah Palin tweeting the above gem, sarcastically remarking “lovely” at the prospect of the White House inviting rapper Common to a poetry reading: IS IT RACIST?

Ummmm. Okay. Let’s talk. I mean, it’s basically impossible not to picture Sarah Palin sitting on a dead moose and saying that the White House is “gettin’ awful dark, don’tcha think,” right? She once linked to a church sign that called Obama a “TALIBAN MUSLIM.” And then there is this. And this. And this and this and this. And this all goes without even mentioning that Common is a tremendously talented lyricist and has just as much right as any other artist to take part in a poetry reading, especially considering poetry is defined as “the art of rhythmical composition, written or spoken, for exciting pleasure by beautiful, imaginative, or elevated thoughts.” I would say that yeah, that’s probably what a rapper would be good at performing.

Considering Sarah Palin has never painted herself as anything but a closed-minded, moose-killing airhead, I think it’s reasonable to say that this one is a given:

YEP – it’s racist.

5. Sarah Palin

Yeah, I said it. I SAID IT! Sure, she has about as much political preparedness as a shelter puppy, but let’s be honest, she’s pretty bangin’, especially for someone who has pumped enough kids out of her to start a small army. Plus I had to have at least one lady on the list.

4. Thomas Jefferson

With that wispy, Trump-esque hair and foofy scarf, you might be thinking I’m crazy, or at least that I have an ascot fetish. But if we look at this comparatively, the guy’s pretty damn sexy. And he didn’t even have syphilis*, which is a plus, and he doesn’t look quite as inbred as most of the post-Revolution politicians (i.e. John Adams. Yeesh.) For 18th century America, this guy was the Brad Pitt equivalent.

*edit: I just found out he died of a urinary tract infection and had a lisp, which is, um… not that bad?

3. Gavin Newsom, Mayor of San Francisco

Oh, Gavin. Gavin Gavin Gavin. It’s not unexpected that my number two sexiest American politician would be from San Francisco, because like, 95% of men that live in that city are flaming (hot and otherwise). Gavin is also currently the Democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor of California, and if I could vote for him based on suit-wearing-capabilities alone, he’d get my carefully bubbled in ballot for SURE.

2. John F. Kennedy

JFK was a playboy president way before Bill Clinton ever got his his “commander-in-chief” taken care of by that fat intern. He was not only extremely inspirational and compassionate, but had an affinity for yachts, and before he was married to the gorgeous Jackie Kennedy, the lay-deez. Until he was tragically assassinated in 1963, he lead the United States through some of the most trying times of our history. Plus he was SMOKIN’.

1. Barack Obama

You know I had to do it. The man has one of the most riveting speaking voices I’ve ever heard, is hilarious, likes good music, is good at both basketball and body surfing, and has taken a depressed country and given it hope that things can get better. Whether or not you agree with his politics, you’ve got to admit the man has charisma and charm like no other. Here’s to 2-6 more years of room-commanding smiles, good sir!

With Halloween approaching, we know there are a lot of choices one should consider before officially deciding on a costume. Will it be serious or funny? Sexy or silly? A poignant portrayal of the very first African American president who, whether you agree with his platforms or not, can only be considered one of the most inspirational figures America has seen in some time or A SUPER RACIST CARICATURE OF HIM? And why the microphone? This could very well be a costume set for Dave Chapelle. Good one, Target.

If you had told me in 1993 that I’d be watching the video for Tag Team’s  single “Whoomp (There it is)” in the year 2010 at my desk at work I’d have told you, “hey man, that video is totally all that and a bag of chips, but you buggin, yo,” or something like that.

However, it’s 2010 and here I am, watching the video because apparently Gawker.com has decided that Barack Obama was an extra in the video. That’s right — the President of the United States, in the video for one of the most ridiculous singles ever to hit the airwaves.

It seems as though matters of national security were put on hold for a few days as President Obama constructed his March madness predictions. [Insert commentary about college basketball, because I seriously know nothing about the subject] While the president is known for making bold statements, for the bracket he went the safe route, choosing University of Kansas to be National Champions.

He also apparently picked his Final Four for women’s basketball, which is just funny, cause we all know no one cares about women’s basketball.

Talk about being in tune with public opinion! According to the NY Times, In a recent press release from the White House, press secretary Robert Gibbs stated that although the date and time of President Obama’s next State of the Union address is not known, it will definitely not be in the same time slot as the anticipated season premiere of  ’Lost’s final season. “I don’t foresee a scenario in which the millions of people that hope to finally get some conclusion in ‘Lost’ are preempted by the president,” Mr. Gibbs said.

Millions of Losties across the nation just found a new reason to love the President!

Apparently, the couple, who are aspiring reality TV show contestants, were able to “talk their way through” security, even though they were not on the invite list.

Seriously, Secret Service? I watched a bouncer at a downtown bar reject some guy because he didn’t have a collared shirt on. You work for the President of The United States, and you can’t keep two creeps out of the WHITE HOUSE? Sounds like it’s time for a new career path.

Now, this takes some guts. Laughing in the face of authority, comedian David Cross reportedly did a bump of cocaine while at the Washington Correspondents Dinner less than 50 feet away from the President. According to Movieline.com, Cross reportedly pulled the stunt to one-up a friend that supposedly did a bump at the DEA Museum. That’s one high stakes game of “I Dare You.”

You may know David Cross from his television role as Tobias on the critically acclaimed by short-lived series “Arrested Development.”  He is also known for a public feud with comedian Larry The Cable Guy. For the time being, he’s one of the ballsiest people to attend the Washington Correspondents Dinner. Aside from Stephen Colbert, that is.
