Boost Mobile signed a huge multiyear sponsorship deal with the WNBA this morning, and it’s not like other American sport sponsorships. Boost won’t just have their name on courtside advertisements or all-star weekend programming. They’ll have their logo plastered on the front of every WNBA jersey, save the two teams that already have mobile deals.

Woof. WOOF. How sad that your sport is being sponsored by the least-used, most-laughed-at mobile service around? How sad that they demand you actually sport their logo ON YOUR JERSEY, like some sort of human NASCAR? How sad that the commercial for said embarrassing sponsorship is laughably stereotypical of the WNBA?

Answer: Very, very sad.

Check out the video below, where Jimmy Fallon does a pretty excellent impression in his commercial for “Winning,” the new fragrance by Charlie Sheen. Let’s be clear, I am posting this because Jimmy Fallon is great in it and the video is FUNNY, not because of anything that has to do with Charlie Sheen, okay? Got it? NOT because Charlie Sheen. I am over Charlie Sheen. OVER him.

You can always count on Nike to make big-screen-worthy commercials that induce tears while simultaneously giving you a bulge in your pants over whatever sports event is on the horizon. This ad for the coming world cup (which the BCU staff is counting down the days to) is no exception. Filmed by Alejandro G Inarritu, the director of the films 21 Grams and Babel, it created enough excitement in this office to power a mid-sized metropolitan city. The only thing that could possibly make this video better is if Sir Morgan Freeman was narrating it.

You know how usually when you watch commercials, all you can think in your head is, “God, whatever marketing campaign director that thought this was a good idea must have been dropped on their head as a child”? This is not one of those commercials. Joining the ranks of other great commercialists like Bud Light, Geico, and OBC, this Dentyne ad really had us rolling!

While at the offices of BCU we aren’t avid Miller Lite drinkers, we have to give them props for this ad, parodying the well-known Match.com ads which show “spontaneous” and “unscripted” interviews with “real couples” that met on the site and are now on their way to “perfect, happy, in-love” matrimony.

And while it’s a hilarious ad, and we giggle at the thought of someone actually enjoying Miller Lite that much, it seems to unintentionally say what we’ve been saying for years- silly sites that claim peoples’ main goal in life should be to settle down with “The One” ignore the ever-expanding niche of singles who understand marriage isn’t the only option! Alright, fine, the ad isn’t saying exactly that, but it sure does make you think! Thanks you Miller Lite! Not for your cringe-inducing lager, but for an ad that proves people can be stay single and still be happy, as long as they’ve  got their favorite beer!

Jamie Pressly stars in this awesome ad for Axe’s new detailer sponge. “Go ahead and play with those clean balls.” Pure gold!

There is nothing funnier than a small-town commercial, and although Birmingham, Alabama is far from a small town, this commercial for a restaurant called Cantina is a picture perfect example. Sure, it’s slightly racist, and yeah, a Fish Burger sounds disgusting, but Tequila Robot is terrific, in all his cheaply-produced, coffee-can-armed glory!

Advertising has come a long way. Advancements in technology, special effects and, of course, High Definition have been instrumental in bringing forth advertisements of the absolute highest caliber of quality and creativity. Just take a look at those stunningly brilliant OBC commercials. However, nothing epitomizes the pinnacle of creative genius like topless women skydiving. I’m not sure what this commercial is selling but, whatever it is, I want it. Bravo, I say. Bravo.
