With the help of about four different sports websites, I am going to attempt to tell you what happened last night during the Miami Heat vs Boston Celtics game, and what it means for the series, which moves to Boston Saturday night. Considering my experience with basketball consists of, well, nothing, my preemptive apologies in case I (and I will) screw something up here.

Okay. Deep breath.

Last night, Lebron James had a great game (one of the best of his career, says Deadspin), with 35 points, 2 of 4 three-pointers, and zero turnovers. He lead the Heat to a 102 – 91 victory in a second game over Rajon Rondo and his Celtics in the series of seven, which continues on Saturday at TD Garden. According to the Boston Globe, Celtics coach Doc Rivers might be a little more than worried about this postseason series, as he was quoted saying “They’ve won two games at home, but they’ve played well and we can’t allow them to play like this or it’s going to be tough at our place.’’

Even the Miami Herald sounded surprised about the Heat’s performance in the Eastern Conference, calling their five home court wins an “upset,” but saying that the way the team is playing, “anything could happen.” Considering our coverage of Lebron’s shocking move to the Heat back in July of 2010, as well as his disappointing performance as of November of last year, we wish him and his teammates luck and hope they continue this streak in Boston!

And no, this has nothing to do with the fact that I made a $1000 bet that Lebron would get a ring this year. Nothing at all. Nope.

Yeah, just thought you might want to read that again to remind yourself that we at BCU kiiiiind of live in the best city in the nation. It’s mid-December, and although our mornings and nights are a bit on the chilly side (58 degrees HOW DARE YOU), our afternoons on the weekends have been just straight up glorious. And although you may be suffering through some less-than-desirable conditions (43 in Salt Lake City, 19 in Green Bay), we’d like to help you solve your winter blues (actually fall blues, it’s not even winter yet so it’s actually probably going to get way worse, sorry dude) with a few tips on how to make this weekend the best “Summer in December” ever. Here are BCU’s three things you HAVE to do this weekend.

1) Get a spray tan

One of the main reasons this season is so depressing is because everyone is pasty and unattractive. Watching the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show I realized that all of them had a sexy, summer-like glow despite the fact that this was filmed smack-dab in the middle of fall. And of course, said models were NOT about to destroy their precious skin cells with UV rays, so we’re sure they had some military grade airbrush tanner highlighting their every curve with faux-tan products to give them that sun-kissed July glow. Because this time of year few people are taking their clothes off, many spray tan spots are offering awesome deals just to get people through the doors. And sure, people will notice that you went from snowman to desert angel in 10 minutes, but they will also be taken aback at how hot you look so who gives a youknowwhat. Just make sure you keep your color preference to a “I-snowboard-naked” natural tan and not “frozen-orange-juice-man” dark tan.

2) Have a summer movie marathon and drink summer drinks

My favorite is Forgetting Sarah Marshall. The gorgeous views of the Hawaiian beach, scantily clad Mila Kunis and Kristin Bell… they are all the ingredients to remind you that summer is, honestly, not that far away. Make the movie even better by forgoing the wintery warm drinks and blending up something fruity like a strawberry margarita or a delicious mojito. Then sit back and relax and imagine yourself on the very beaches that Jason Segel is awkwardly prancing around on. Other good picks: Couples Retreat, 50 First Dates, The Beach, Into the Blue, any of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

3) Just come to San Diego already!

Look, I don’t mean to toot my own horn here, but there is a reason I’ve never lived anywhere except San Diego and it definitely doesn’t have anything to do with my crippling need to be near my mother. IT DOESN’T OKAY. It has to do with the cool people, the eclectic culture, the incredibly varied landscape (city, desert, coast, mountains all within driving distance), and of course, the weather! Sure, I may have been a whiny little b*tch this summer because we never got to the hot temperatures we’re used to, but it’s times like these that I am reminded how much I enjoy living in a Mediterranean type of climate. So HEY! YOU! Come to San Diego and party with the BCU staff. We’d love to have you. (If it’s too far away, Miami, Florida, and Corpus Christi, Texas have very similar warmth right now, but those cites are pretty much barf compared to here).

The east coast showcases their beauty during this time of the year with cool weather, gorgeous scenery, and thousands of co-eds going back to school. Hitting a college town with some friends for Homecoming weekend can be a great opportunity to meet some hot singles just back from summer vacation. What happens in Massachusetts stays in Massachusetts, isn’t that what they say?

Munich, Germany

One word: Oktoberfest. If the movie Beerfest (I’m pretty sure that’s a documentary, right?) is to be believed, this city during fall is consistently overflowing with the tastiest lagers, disturbingly hot beer-wenches and women who have no problems flashing you to distract you from beer-pong. It’s like Girls Gone Wild except minus the daddy issues.

A great spot for people who are open to new experiences, San Francisco is a great fall destination. As its warm weather is just starting with the beginning of September, you’ll get a rare glimpse into the city’s mild climate. From Haight-Ashbury’s strange shops to Pier 39s seals (and amazing clam chowder), there’s something for everyone. And for the singles out there looking for a vacay hookup, the nightlife is great too, especially for the open-minded — San Fransisco has one of the biggest gay populations in America.

If you’re not a cold-weather-loving person (and we’d understand why), escape the cooler weather and head where it’s warm year-round. Because it’s a tropical area, although it’s an 86 degree day today, for example, it’s raining. However, if you can get past the spontaneous rainstorms you’ll get to experience some of the hottest nightlife the east coast has to offer, as well as hot singles from around the world. If you’re not into the orange-leaves and hot-soup type of vacations (but are into more Latin singles than you can imagine), this is your destination.

For wine connoisseurs or just people who want a relaxing weekend in a beautiful scenic valley, Napa’s fall season is the best time to see this California city at its best. Not only is it harvest season, but the weather is still warm in the region. Unlike our previous destinations, this isn’t exactly a post where you’d meet a hot new booty call, but maybe bring your favorite from home. If you live near the area, taking a party bus or limo with a group of friends on a winery tour can also be a great way to break the ice between you and that friend-of-a-friend you’ve been eying. Whichever method you choose — a little red wine and a gorgeous sunset can go a long way ;).

As you may have deduced from my less-than-stellar coverage of the World Cup and the NBA Finals, I am pretty illiterate (and indifferent) when it comes to sports that involve balls. And yes, that works both ways.

However, it would take someone living under a rock to have not been hearing the overwhelming buzz regarding LeBron James’ decision to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers and switch teams to the Miami Heat. As you might expect, the people of Cleveland are heart-wrenchingly depressed/rabies-ridden-doglike  that their Golden LBJ is leaving.

I remember when LT left the Chargers and people were like, “Aww. Well, good luck, LT, you were awesome!” But apparently in this case with LeBron people are burning his jersey? And Spike Lee is saying that if the Heat play the Cavs,“they’re going to need the National Guard. I’m not trying to blow this up, but they’re going to need the National Guard.” Um, ok, Spike Lee. Thanks for your not at all maniacal input.

Needless to say, it’s not just the Cleve that’s angry about the decision. James’ other likely options were to go to the Knicks or the Bulls, and both of those cities are almost equally as furious as the Cavaliers fans — apparently the Knicks wanted LeBron so bad that half the chefs in the city offered him free meals for LIFE, including Mario Batali of the Food Network, who offered a dinner every two weeks, “wherever you want, up to 20 people. I will make a dinner, not an Iron Chef dinner, a delicious dinner, in New York City.” I half expected him to throw in a blowey for no extra charge.

I mean, I understand that a great player like LeBron can increase tourism and revenue and complete the trifecta of awesome sports teams (because can we all agree that the Nets AND the Knicks are embarrassments?), but can America  just take a moment to realize that half of America has been hanging on the words of a giant in a purple shirt who plays a child’s game for a living?

Miami, Florida is known for many things. Warm sandy beaches, delicious Latin food, and the delicious Latin lady butts that are inextricably entangled with the the two.

have gotten the best of him, because he began trolling the streets of Miami, searching for curvaceous women who seemed to be in need of a nice squeeze. His technique? Brandishing a knife, demanding the woman hand over her belongings, and then just for good measure, grabbin’ some T and A on the way out.

It was only a matter of time before police caught onto the legend of the Serial Booty Grabber, and when one woman was able to fight him off, he was arrested and sentenced to jail time for armed robbery. Apparently there isn’t a category for premeditated fondling.

Maybe there he’ll get a taste of his own medicine.

It seems as though Brazil’s obsession with soccer has finally caused a problem. Who could have seen this coming?

During this weekend’s season-ending matches in Sao Paulo, thieves managed to steal $6 million from a cash-delivery firm. A security guard nearby thought he heard a bang, but assumed it was just fireworks lit by fans. How did they get into the  firm? This is where it gets crazy.

Apparently the thieves bought a house about 100 yards away from the firm four months ago. Throughout that time, while acting as a family (even going so far as buying a Christmas tree), they painstakingly tunneled under the house and up to the money-delivery firm.

Timing it perfectly with the extremely popular Sao-Paulo games, they blasted their way in, making out with over $6 million in cash.

This is a warning to police in Miami- Super Bowl XLIV is no reason to let your guard down!

So, at one of the conference sessions, I brought up this little fact to a bunch of the suits and it got quieter than a room full deaf mutes! This clearly let me know that this subject needs much more attention, and here at OBC we need to do our best to raise awareness on this topic… We’re glad people are making over 300,000 “booty call” connections on our site every week, but take our advice: “Always wear your helmet before you go into battle!” Seriously, it’s everyone’s job out there (girls this means you too!) to make sure you’re being safe and staying clean. OBC is working on a condom & safe sex campaign to help out with this… stay tuned.
