This video was produced by the “satire-or-not-maybe-I’m-not-sure-but-probably?” Christian website christwire.org. The reason why no one knows if they are a satirical look at far right Christians is likely due to the fact that many of the views they spout, while over the top, are not far from what truly hardcore religious folk believe.

So, is the video below a real look at how Christian folk refer to their junk? Or is it poking fun at the group of people who have tricked so many into believing that sex before marriage is a one way ticket to hell? Decide for yourself:

Answer: Just about everything. According to a review of a new book coming out by author Amy Schalet, Americans should be taking some advice from the much more liberal Dutch in regards to sexual behavior in both teens and adults. Schalet was born in the US but raised in the Netherlands, and says she was shocked to see the state of sex in her home land when she returned at age 21. Teen pregnancy rates are eight times higher here, abortion rates twice as high, and the AIDS rate is three times greater here. What are the Dutch doing differently than us? Not tying their teenage girls to chairs and forcing them to accept abstinence, that’s for sure.

A few of the points Schalet believes may be the cause behind this phenomenon:

1) Parents in the Netherlands are much more open with their teens about sex, whereas in America they tend to be quiet and uncomfortable with the subject.

2) Birth control was widely used among teens starting in the seventies, lowering the teen pregnancy rate.

3) “Coming out of the sexual revolution, the Dutch really decoupled sex from marriage, but they didn’t decouple sex from love.” (Our favorite one right there.)

4) America believes that teen boys are incapable of love, and therefore sex between teens is supposedly just about hormones. Instead of just telling teens that they only true form of love is marriage, America should be accepting of many different types of loving relationships.

5) The idea behind Dutch law is “we permit so can control,” which is shown in their attitudes towards marijuana and prostitution legalization, whereas in America we often believe if you let a person smoke a joint it will lead to heroin addiction.

Over at TIME magazine you can read even more about Schalet’s recommendations to parents who want to have children capable of healthy, loving relationships, as well as to all society to promote a society that doesn’t view sex as taboo. In what could be the most Obviously Obvious News of the decade, Tastebuds.fm has released a list of “musical turnoffs” that men and women claim are dating dealbreakers, and Nickleback – reigning kings of douchebaggery, top the list.

The dating site Tastebuds.fm 1,600 users for their biggest “musical turnoff.” Nickelback led the pack, followed closely by Justin Bieber. The rest of the top 10: Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, Coldplay, U2, Creed, Katy Perry, Lil Wayne and Britney Spears.

Look how nicely I have typed those! That could easily be printed out and placed on a 3×5 card to be placed in your wallet for future first dates! “What band do I like, you ask?” (slyly pulls out card under table) “Well let me tell you – I definitely do NOT like Ke$ha, that girl is the worst!” (proceed to have hours of raunchy sex).

Jamie Bell, a British actor best known for his role as a male ballerina in the movie Billy Elliot, is about to star in a remake of the movie Tintin directed by Steven Spielberg. In an interview with GQ, however, the most interesting detail was his very accurate answer to the question”What’s the best way to impress a woman?”

Buy her flowers? Take her home on the weekend to meet your mother? No. Let’s cut to the primal – be good in the sack. [Slaps thighs] Have an understanding of what’s going on down there and have fun, awesome sex.

Um, yes? Perfect, flawless answer? But wait, it gets better. When the interviewer asked what skill every man should have, Bell continued his string of 100% correct answers:

Skill? You know what I’m going to say. A man should have a good understanding of a vagina. He should be good at oral sex. On a woman.

WHO IS THIS ANGEL FROM THE HEAVENS, AND WHY HAVE WE NEVER PAID HIM MORE ATTENTION? Some news outlets are claiming that Bell’s answers are “heterosexist,” because they imply that men are only supposed to be with women. But as a female who is also heterosexual, I have to politely disagree and say that he scored 102/100 in this interview. The extra two points are for the cute-boy-morphed-into-a-handsome-man photo. A+.

Men, looks like it’s time to start working on your bedroom skills. According to a poll by Cosmopolitan magazine, 20% of women would rather give up sex for a week than Facebook, and over half of them would go without sex if it meant they could keep their cell phones and computers. NO BUENO, HOMBRES.

The magazine’s poll of 2,000 readers seems to show that women are more attached to their digital relationships than their real life ones, although it could just show that Cosmo readers are prudish gossipy b*tches. Let’s lean towards the prior, shall we? According to SocialHype.com,

Scientists have found that Facebook and other online interactions can release a hormone that is also released during orgasm which often gives people the feeling of falling in love and simulate the love making experience.  After that finding, it doesn’t seem so shocking that one in five women would go without sex for a week if they had to choose between a hot date versus status updates.  Guaranteed satisfaction.

Yikes, guys. Something needs to change in the sexual status-quo if women are more satisfied perusing their friends’ Facebook updates than they are after a between-the-sheets romp. More foreplay? Less glorification of unattainable body types? Less jack-hammering and more makin’ out? Whatever it is, we hope that it happens. We can’t have a whole generation of women passing out “likes” instead of BJs. It could be the end of civilization.

We at BCU have always known that a more casual attitude toward sex could lower the divorce rate, heighten the public morale, lower stress, and improve peoples’ health. What we didn’t know, is that ladies desire for various partners (that they have been forced to keep hidden beneath pretend prudishness) may in fact be inherent in their genes!

According to TheDailyMail, promiscuity in females may be nature’s way of preventing inbreeding. Researchers studied female beetles and their mating patterns and saw that they have the ability to filter partners to find the most genetically compatible sperm to produce offspring.

After creating a population of inbred beetles, the researched noted that within 15 generations, the female beetles began mating more frequently and with more partners, likely to try and “filter in the genetically most compatible sperm to produce more viable offspring.”

In the human population, of course, promiscuity probably isn’t so much to avoid inbreeding (except maybe in the South [just kidding (kind of!)]), but it may still be one biological reason that women are pre-disposed to love booty calls, although they are forced by society to pretend they only want to get married and have babies.

So, ladies, next time someone gives you a hard time for casually dating and enjoying booty calls, just say, “Don’t ask me, ASK NATURE.”

I keep hearing about this Alexander Skarsgard dude, usually wedged between the words “beautiful,” “amazing,” and “I would literally kill someone for the chance to touch his bare chest.” But honestly, I’ve got no idea who he is. I think I can assume he is an actor, or maybe a musician? Or perhaps a model, he is a very good looking guy. Up until now, though, I ignored His Holiness because there is kind of a surplus of attractive men in Hollywood and I can’t keep track of them all.

After this interview with Out magazine, though, I can see why he is so highly regarded. He sounds like just our type of guy.

Skarsgård: Also, I think part of the reason why there are so many musicians coming out of Sweden is you’re encouraged to play an instrument, or to sing and be creative, from a very early age, and it’s free. It’s a combination of a good school system and the long, dark winters. Because that means people sit in their garages and play music for five months because it’s too cold and dark to be outside.
Åkerlund: That’s the boning season. [Laughter] And then it’s spring, and that’s also boning season. And summer’s the best boning season.
Skarsgård: And that’s also why we’re so liberal and so cool with our sexuality — because we f— a lot [laughter].

Um, WHAT? Yes please, this is a guy who’s got his priorities straight. And WHAT’S THIS ABOUT SWEDEN? Four seasons of non-stop boot-knocking?! IS THAT PLACE NARNIA? Especially considering its women-folk look like this, I think it’s safe to say we should all call it a day, go home, pack our sexiest underwear up in an old Vons bag, and move today. It’s in our best interest.

A new study by a group of researchers suggests that casual sex might not be ruining our women as previous scientists tried to claim, and it might in fact be the dating that is causing women to be insecure, self-conscious, and submissive.

Sociologist Sinnika Elliot and her co-researchers presented college students two scenarios and then asked them to judge the motivation behind each. The scenarios:

In the first part of each scenario, a man and a woman meet at a party for the first time and hook up. In the second part of each scenario, the same man and woman go on a date a week after hooking up – and the date ends in a kiss (no sex). In one scenario, the woman asks the man out on the date. In the other scenario, the man asks the woman out.

Excitingly, nearly all the students believed that the motivation behind the hook up was mutual – that both the man and the woman in the scenario were looking to hook up. Very few painted the woman in a negative light for being open to casual sex, and instead believed that they were both free to act on their own desires without fear of damaging their reputations.

However, when it comes to the post-hookup date, where no sex was had, the gender inequality is far more obvious:

Approximately half of the students said the woman ended the date that the man initiated with a kiss to fix the man’s impression of her and show that she is “respectable,” and thus good dating material. And when asked about the scenario in which the woman asks the man out, about half of the students said he only went on the date out of a sense of obligation—a pity date—and that he didn’t have sex because he had no real interest in her and did not want to lead her on.

Of course, we can’t make any brash conclusions about a hypothetical scenario, but it’s interesting to see what the students perceived happening, because they had likely been in the situation before. They had clearly seen women go on a “second” date with a man where she felt she had to redeem herself for “looking slutty” or had seen a guy go on a “pity date” with a girl he had no intention of seeing again.

Sure, this may not mean that casual sex is the 100% guaranteed way to end gender inequality, but it does show that perhaps men and women can mutually benefit from a more modern relationship that is not already pigeon-holed into gender roles (man picks up woman, woman dresses to impress, man pays, woman gives road head [just kidding]). It might finally be time for people to widen their view of what is a “socially acceptable” and “healthy” relationship… and that’s news we’re happy to learn.

Basically, according to this graph, we can conclude that country is the most boring music (with its high rates of commitment, parenting, and rejection themes, and that R&B, while definitely including many of our favorite things, may come off a tiny bit desperate, with so many of their songs talking about status, resources, and reputation.

This story probably falls into our “obviously obvious news” category, but we still think it’s a very interesting study. 92% of the top played songs talk about booty, I think it’s safe to say that it’s a natural, human aspect of life and shouldn’t be treated like some horrible shameful act to be looked down on. Or, in other words,

Hey girl, you know I’ma use some short term strategies, cause I got mad sexual prowess… now I can get you into a sex act with your genitalia? MMhmmmm.

Or something like that.
